No More Nigerian Coach For Super Eagles – NFF

By On February 29, 2016

nff_logoPresident of the Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick has declared that Sunday Oliseh will be the last Nigerian coach for the Super Eagles under the current board. Pinnick made the position of the federation known while speaking at the 18th Annual Africa Business Conference of the Harvard Business School, Boston, Massachusetts, United States according to hotsports.tv.
The FA boss told the gathering that the federation had reached the end of the road in keeping faith with Nigerians as head of the Eagles coaching staff.
He said, “After this Sunday Oliseh debacle, we have definitely turned the corner. We are now going to start shopping for a well-grounded and qualified foreign coach to tinker the team. Enough is enough. “What we have learnt is that there is a world of difference between being a good coach and being a good manager.”
The Olympic Eagles coach Samson Siasia was announced as a quick replacement for Oliseh last Friday in what is seen as a temporary measure. And with Pinnick’s statement any thought of keeping Siasia for a long period as the Eagles coach may have been laid to rest.

Rev. King’s Death Sentence Caused By Witches, Wizards, Says Church Members

By On February 29, 2016

Reverend-KingLast Friday’s confirmation of the death sentenced passed on General overseer of the Christian Praying Assembly (CPA) Chukwuemeka Ezeugo (aka Rev. King), has been attributed to the handiwork of witches and wizards by his church members.
The members also reaffirmed their belief that Rev. King will be spared the hangman’s noose and “return to join us.”
The self-styled cleric was sentenced to death in 2007 for the burning to death of a member of his church in 2006. He appealed the judgment and lost before the apex court sealed his fate last Friday.
But yesterday during the first church service after the Supreme Court decision at the Lagos headquarters at Ajao Estate, off the Murtala Muhammad Airport Road, Pastor Ifeanyi King, who preached said:  “Our G.O. (General Overseer) the most holiness, Rev King, is coming back. He said he would come back and we believe the words of his mouth. We believe his report that he is coming back. Everything happening now we know is the handiwork of witches and wizard. Soon a new story will emerge.”
The preacher added: “Whether people realise it or not, everybody now knows his holiness, our G.O. Rev King. The front pages of newspapers are flooded with his name. People are yearning to read about him in the social media. I can confirm to you that by all these, a lot of people have become endeared to him. Our Daddy G.O. shall live forever for us in Jesus name.”

No Banking Day: Nigerians Set To Boycott Banks On Tuesday Over Excessive Charges

By On February 29, 2016
Banking-HallNigerians have set aside Tuesday, March 1st to boycott bank transactions and activities all over the country in order to protest excessive charges introduced by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), which banks are using as an avenue to extort money from unsuspecting customers.
The boycott is being initiated by the Consumer Advocacy Foundation of Nigeria (CAFON) and the Coalition of Nigerian Consumer Protection Associations.
According to CAFON founder Sola Salako, the boycott is tagged as “No Banking Day” and is aimed to register Nigerians’ anger over outrageous charges on deposits, transfers and withdrawals. Ms. Salako is asking Nigerians to stay away from the banks on Tuesday and to shun any transactions either on the counter or online with any bank.
Ms. Salako then said that the CBN gave the directive with a caveat that those charges are negotiable but wondered why banks have refused to give the opportunity to customers to negotiate it.
“They just deduct money from our accounts because they have access to it. The charges may look small, but when you put them together they add up to a lot. So they sit there and declare huge profits at the end of the year,” she said.

Ms. Salako also noted that the banks have not contributed anything meaningful to the country’s economic quagmires and instead inflicted untold hardship on common people through their unethical practices.
The group described the charges as unacceptable, “what we are saying is the boycott will let us reduce their income for one day as a warning. If we don’t patronize them they won’t be in business. So respect us when we say this is not acceptable to us,” Ms. Salako said.
Ms. Salako disclosed that the boycott is the first phase of the protest and the group is planning to take to the streets to pressure the banks and relevant authorities to rescind their decision on the outrageous charges.
It will be recalled that public outcry has followed the introduction of the Current Account Maintenance fee by the CBN, saying that this amounts to legalizing illegality. Many customers have also complained about inconsistency of the stamp duty charges from the Commission on Turnover (COT).

NIGERIAN GIRLS SAVED FROM PROSTITUTION IN GHANA, NARRATE THEIR ORDEAL

NIGERIAN GIRLS SAVED FROM PROSTITUTION IN GHANA, NARRATE THEIR ORDEAL

The girls were to pay the woman who never told them her real names but was called “Madam Excellent” the sum of 800,000 cefas while they prostitute. Although, these girls, Franca Akhimen, 25 and Ehinon Onofua, 23 were lucky enough to summon courage and escaped from what would have been the beginning of life on the wild and dangerous side which they might never have been able to come out of, if luck had not been on their side. In an interview with Encomium Weekly, Franca and Ehinon, who disclosed they have learnt their lessons in a hard way, gave a graphic account of how they were deceived and almost ended up as prostitutes…
Can you tell us what happened and how you ended up in Togo to prostitute?
Franca: It was in Epkoma in Edo state where I met one lady… I was actually going to church when I met her and she approached me and said she was looking for girls that can work in her restaurant in Ivory Coast. So, when I got home I told Ehinon and we arranged to meet her and she told us what the plan was and when we will be leaving Nigeria for Ivory Coast. So, on February 2, we left Edo for Lagos, had a stop at Mile 2, and she told us that was where the car that will take us to Ivory Coast will pick us. So, at exactly 9.30pm, the car came for us and we all boarded that evening. When we got to Togo, I noticed that we were not going to proceed with our journey, so I asked the woman why are we here, you said we were going to Ivory Coast not Togo, and she told me to keep quiet, that whatever she asked me to do I should just do it without complaining. Later, she went out to buy clothes and came back with some skimpy and short dresses and gave them to us to wear. I asked why such dresses, because they don’t look like clothes that are worn by a waitress or a person selling food. Again she told me to keep quiet and just do whatever she asked me to do, adding that we were brought to Togo for prostitution and in return we get to pay her 800,000 cefas each. So, I told my sister, we can’t do this kind of job, we have to find a way to escape from her than to stay here. So, we left without even carrying our bags in order not to arouse any suspicion of us running away. And as we were trying to escape, we met a guy, after listening to our story, he told us he doesn’t know anybody in Togo, because he is from Ghana and can help us get there so that we can get the help we needed. When we got to Ghana, he took us to Christ Embassy Church where we met with two guys and one of them gave us some money which is worth like N700,000 each and we left with the guy that brought us from Togo to lodge in a hotel, because it was getting late and there was nowhere to sleep. He, however, promised us that in the morning he will take us to some pastors so they can help us with transport fare back to Nigeria. But to our surprise in the morning while I was taking my bath, the guy took off with the money we were given at the Christ Embassy Church. So, we approached the manager of the hotel and told him our predicament, and he called a taxi, paid the driver and asked him to take us to the Nigerian Embassy and also gave us some money. But unfortunately, when we got to the embassy we were told that there was no money to give to us to return to Nigeria, but God so good one of the workers there, asked us to come with him to his house since it was on a Friday and we had no where to stay, but told us that if the embassy does not help us by Monday, he won’t take us back to his house and we have to find help somewhere else…
And did he take advantage of you girls while you were in his house?

Franca: Not at all, he really took care of us and only God can repay him for his kindness. And when we got to the embassy on Monday, there was still no hope for us until we met Mr. Moses Owaro, President of the All Nigerian Community Ghana, who took us back to the embassy with a letter explaining our situation to them, and still no help was forth coming due to financial constrain, and eventually had to fund our trip back to Nigeria with the help of Chief Christopher Obareki, a member of the board of trustees of ANC-GH with the sum of 800ghc to buy our tickets back to Lagos and also gave us N6,000 for our trip from Lagos to Edo state.
Did your families know you were embarking on such mission?
Ehinon: Hmmmm, we didn’t tell our parents because we wanted to surprise them by going to Ivory Coast to work and come back home with lots of money to help us start our businesses, because we just finished learning fashion and design, so we were hoping when we make money, we can come back to Nigeria and buy sewing machines and open our own place and that was a big mistake on our part. But Mr Moses Owaro spoke with my brother in Nigeria to explain the situation of things. So, currently our families are aware that we are in Ghana and will be returning home soon.
How were you able to cross the boarder without the authorities suspecting any foul play?
Ehinon: Anytime we got to the boarder, we were told to come down from the car and cross over to the other side on foot. And what the woman kept telling the immigration officers and other security personnel was that we were going to the next country to buy goods to sell. They told us not to show any sign of fear or fidget in front of the officers.
So, how did you feel when you realized that you are being tricked into prostitution instead of working in a restaurant?
Franca: We felt bad, and we just wanted to leave that place even when we had no place to go, rather than sleeping with different men while she takes all the money.
So, what is your advice for young girls like you who are looking for fast means to get rich?
Ehinon: My advice is that, if anybody approaches them and promises to take them somewhere for greener pastures, they should not go, find out if indeed its legitimate. Please confirm before you travel with any stranger that offers you job in foreign land, please don’t go, especially the girls. I’m appealing to you, because you will end up in prostitution and that was the mistake we made. We need to be patient, though there can be delay in reaching our goals but with God it will surely happen.
Franca: You know it is not everybody that tells their parents their plans, especially when it is this kind of travel. They should please not hide anything from their parents.
Also speaking on the issue, the President of the All Nigerian Community-Ghana, Moses Owaro called on parents and guardians to be more vigilant about strangers who offers, to take their children abroad for better opportunity, while security personnel should be extra vigilant at points of entry, be it at the boarder or at the airports as young girls like these are smuggled out every now and then. Which is one of the reasons why the All Nigerian Community-Ghana in partnership with Ghana Immigration and other security agencies will be mounting a post at points of entry into Ghana most especially to enable us have the necessary information about Nigerians that are coming into Ghana and what they are coming to do.

Since its launched in 1998, it has become so all encompassing that phrases like ‘Google It’ have become part of our everyday conversation.
And now it appears the next generation of internet users will have access to Google from an even earlier age but in an all new guise after the search engine launched a new
kid-friendly version this week.
play
Kiddle uses Google colours but instead of the traditional white background has adopted an outer space theme, fit with a friendly robot.
It will work in the same manner as Google but its search will be heavily filtered.
The first one to three posts to show up on a search will feature safe sites, says Tech Times, while the next four to seven will be written in a simple language.
Eight onwards will be sites written for adults but filtered by Google safe search.
For example, a search for Khloe Kardashian produces far less raunchy results on Kiddle than it does on a normal Google search.

It was a moment that is played out on countless holidays every summer but for Krystina Butel it would change her life forever.

The hairdresser, from Wakefield in West Yorkshire, had a caricature drawn for her on a trip to Ibiza when she was aged just 15 and has been chasing the look since.
She has spent more than £130,000 in 15 years in the pursuit of perfection and still thinks there is work to be done.
Her shopping list of treatments and surgeries ranges from £200 a month on sunbeds to five boob jobs to take her cup size from 32DD to 36K.
‘When I saw the caricature for the first time, that was it,’ she said. ‘I was so happy. It was as if finally I knew exactly what I wanted to be. I wanted to look like that
cartoon. I felt envious of it.
It was as if the artist had seen the potential in me; he showed me what I could be if I pushed myself to the limit. The caricature led me in the direction that I wanted to go down.’
For Krystina, now 31 and recently single, it’s an addiction but one she is happy to pursue.
‘I know I’m going to wake up afterwards and see something new in my body,’ she said. ‘For me, it’s about getting closer to my dream. With every surgery, my appearance has got more exaggerated and I’ve gone for the caricature look fully.’

She keeps the artwork hanging in her living room to inspire her to get more work done.
‘That caricature’s my icon and it’s good to see it and reflect on what I need to look more like.
‘It shows me that I’m not done yet with my cosmetic work. I don’t think I’ll ever stop having surgery. When I get older, I’ll have to do more things to my face to keep it looking just like this.’
