The battle for Abia North Senatorial seat appeared to have ended as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday declared the Peoples Democratic Party Candidate, Senator Mao Ohabunwa winner over former governor of Abia State, Chief Uzor Orji Kalu and others.
Senator Ohabunwa scored the highest number of votes of 26009 while the PPA candidate, Orji Uzor Kalu had 25814, according to the Returning Officer, Nwankwojike Nduka ,who had earlier declared the election inconclusive;
However, party agents have been reacting to the declaration of results.
While the PDP’s agent, Mr Udo Uduma commended INEC for the decision it took his counterpart in the PPA, Madukwe Ukaegbu described the announcement as illegitimate.
