Mourinho Plans To Lure World-Class Striker To United
Mourinho is widely expected to take over the Old Trafford hotseat from Louis van Gaal this summer after a disappointing season which may see the Red Devils fail to qualify for the Champions League.
The Portuguese manager worked with Ibrahimovic during his time in charge of Inter Milan and the pair lifted the Serie A title and won the Supercoppa Italiana together.
According to French outlet Le Ten Sport, Mourinho has spoken with the veteran 34-year-old striker about joining the ranks at Manchester United and his experience would undoubtedly boost a side who only boast Wayne Rooney as a senior forward.
During his illustrious career, Ibrahimovic has played for a number of European heavyweights including Barcelona, Juventus and current club PSG where he has a a tremendous goalscoring record of 98 goals in 109 league appearances.
The Swede has never played in England and with his contract in France due to expire in the summer now could be the perfect time for a new challenge.
However, the former Chelsea manager is keeping his options open and is also considering a swoop for Inter’s highly-rated Argentinian hitman Mauro Icardi.
