WhatsApp Now Supports Document Sharing

WhatsApp Now Supports Document Sharing

Popular social platform, WhatsApp on Thursday rolled documents sharing on its platform.

This means that users of WhatsApp for Android and iOS can now send documents. This currently applies to the latest version of the app available for both and Android and iOS devices.
For now, users who update to version 2.12.453 for Android and 2.12.14 on iOS will soon see another sharing option that allows users to share locally stored documents with individuals as well as groups.
However, the receiver would also have the updated version installed in order to receive the sent document on their device.
On Android, in order to share a document, just tap on the attach icon where there is now a ‘Document’ icon instead of a ‘Video’ one. Tapping on the same will show you all the locally stored documents on your device, where you can select and share the document.
While iOS users should just tap the ‘Upload’ icon which will now show a ‘Share Document’ option amongst others that will let users share documents from other third-party apps. In iOS, users will also be able to share documents from iCloud, Google Drive, OneDrive, if they are installed on their smartphone.
For now, Only PDFs are currently supported.
The Facebook-owned Instant messaging app, had earlier announced plans to start testing tools to allow its over 1 billion users communicate with “businesses and organizations” that they might be interested in, directly from the app itself.
