Meet the mother and son who are ‘madly in love’ with each other!

Monica Mares, 36, and her son Caleb Peterson whom she gave up for adoption right after he was born 19 years ago, have fallen in love with each other after they were reunited, according to a Daily Mail report .

The mother and son, whose forbidden love affair could land them lengthy jail terms, have declared they are madly in love and nothing will tear them apart. They have vowed to fight for their right to have a sexual relationship and are appealing to the public to help donate to their legal fund and support them.

Mares, who has eight other children, told Daily Mail that she was willing to give up her other children to fight for her love with Peterson; whom she had when she was only 16.

The 36-year-old said it was almost love at first sight for them when they met for the first time last Christmas, since she gave him up for adoption.

At first, they lived happily together in Mares' mobile home – a white truck – with her two youngest children, successfully keeping their relationship a secret until the police found out about the affair. The couple were subsequently charged with incest, a fourth-degree felony in New Mexico where they both reside, and now face trial scheduled for September

Currently, Mares is not allowed to see any of her children or have any contact at all with Peterson. Yet she maintains that it has all been worth it.

Peterson said he doesn't really view her as his mother and started falling in love with her about a week after they met. He says he never had anyone cook him meals or make him feel special, and that he made the first move on her after he started developing romantic feelings towards her.

He says that even if the judge offered to spare him jail term due to his age, on the condition that he stops all contact with his mother, he would refuse, as he believes she is the love of his life and he would wait for her for as long as is necessary.

The couple, amidst opposition from friends, neighbors and even family who sometimes throw things at them and threaten their lives, have refused to give up their love.

Their tenacity is almost admirable. Almost.
